It’s truly a pleasure to introduce myself and welcome you to TruCare Family Dentistry. My name is Dr. Thanh Truc Tran, and I’m proud to call Greenbelt my forever home after several wonderful years of practicing dentistry in Virginia.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from George Mason University and went on to complete my Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. Since then, I’ve been committed to staying up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry so I can provide care that is not only effective, but also gentle and personalized.

Over the last few years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in several different dental practices, each with its own unique patients and challenges. These experiences have shaped my approach to care and helped me better understand the individual needs of every person who walks through the door.

My philosophy is simple: treat every patient like family and help one person at a time feel confident in their healthiest smile. I believe dentistry is more than fixing teeth—it’s about building trust, easing fears, and helping people feel good about themselves.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending time in nature, hiking on the weekends, experimenting in the kitchen, and taking care of my garden.

Martha began her career in dentistry as a certified dental assistant, and continued to assist while studying Psychology at UMBC. She decided to further her dental education at Fortis College, where she earned her degree in Dental Hygiene. Martha graduated from hygiene school with honors and received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award. As a dental hygienist, Martha hopes to enhance each patient's dental experience by providing quality individualized care. She believes in the importance of building a relationship based on trust, honesty, dignity, and compassion with each patient. Martha strives to educate patients in maintaining optimal oral health and providing patients with the knowledge necessary to prevent oral disease.

During her spare time, Martha loves spending time with family. She enjoys playing guitar, cooking, traveling, volunteering and spending time in nature.

Kai started working at the office in 2020, under the previous owner, John Powers, DMD, who has since retired in late March of 2025. Starting as a floater/ dental assistant, Kai slowly became part of the front desk administration team in 2022 and officially became the Patient Care Coordinator/ Scheduling Coordinator in 2023. From scheduling appointments based on the patient’s or doctor’s schedules, to corresponding with specialists' offices to make sure patients get the best care, Kai is the person to assist you!

Outside of appointment reminders, booking appointments, and keeping the schedule busy and productive, Kai enjoys long walks, trying different cuisines, and learning new hobbies. Since Kai spends a fair amount of time indoors, she also enjoys reading outside on her deck where her cat, Giorgio, can join her.

Meet Casey, our Financial and Insurance Coordinator. She joined our office in 2024; however, she started her career in the dental field as a dental assistant 24 years ago. While she enjoyed working alongside the doctor, she discovered she had a natural talent for dental coding, insurance coverage, and claim filing. With a genuine passion for helping patients, she realized her expertise would be better utilized in the front office. In her current role, Casey excels at managing our financial operations, all while upholding patient integrity and care. She loves witnessing new, happy smiles that result from quality treatment!

Casey has a deep love for animals and shares her home with a lively German Shepherd and two outgoing cats. A lifelong resident of Maryland, she enjoys spending time outdoors, especially an al fresco meal of picking crabs during the summer. She is a die-hard Commanders fan and hopes one day they will change their name back, lol. Casey loves exploring new restaurants, going to the movies, and gardening. Above all, her favorite activity is planning and hosting holiday-themed parties for friends and family, with Halloween being her absolute favorite!
